Abstract

The most important issue for designing wireless sensor network routing protocols is energy efficiency. Our study uses a combination of both fuzzy logic and A-star algorithms that improve priority level in selecting node to form route. This algorithm is capable of selecting the best routing from the source node to the base station by prioritizing the highest remaining power, minimize number of hop, lowest traffic load. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated and compared to the other three methods according to the same criterion. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the new approach for enhancing wireless sensor network lifetime with scattered random nodes.
